Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a tour last?
A typical two-city tour requires three hours. Suggested time frames for other tours vary and are presented along with listed tour themes on the Sightseeing page.Tour length can vary depending on your requests for photos, coffee or restroom breaks, shopping, etc. Remember, this is a private, chauffeur-guided tour, meaning you are largely in charge of what you wish to do and see. You are welcome to extend the tour as long as the guide does not have previously scheduled tour closely following yours. Your guide will let you know how you are doing time-wise along the way.

We offer discounted hourly rates for all day (8 hour) tours. This allows for more time for lunch stops, museum visits, etc.

What will we see?
Brief descriptions of each of our suggested "themes" can be found at Sightseeing. On the popular Two City Tour, you will see the forested Minneapolis Lakes Area, the Mississipi River from several vantage points, the Summit Avenue mansions in St. Paul, both downtown areas, the State Capitol, and the St. Paul Cathedral among hundreds of other attractions and items of interest along the way. If you enjoy Lewis and Clark-like surprises around each new bend, may we suggest the Hidden Treasures Tour. It combines the Two City Tour with attractions we won't share ahead of time.

Where do we find you?
We find you. We will come to your home, hotel or business, just as a car service would. The possible exception is if you are a fair distance away from the central area, in which case, if you are willing, you can meet up with us at closer in location, such as a hotel. This saves you having to pay for the time it takes us to drive to your distant location and back.

How do we pay you?
By preference: Cash, major credit card, personal check.

Will we be joined by others?
No. Our tours are just for you or your party. We never combine groups.

How many guests can you accomodate?
The van will accomodate up to 14 guests. For any groups larger than that, a mini coach or bus would be required. Ask about rates for these larger groups.

Can we stop and take pictures?
Absolutely. Plus you can stop for coffee, restrooms, to visit various attractions...whatever you like. This is a private tour just for you. You call the shots on when to stop and for what. We do try and help you budget your suggested time, but you are free to extend if you like.

Are there any particular do's and don'ts on a private tour?

Do: Have fun! Our wish is for you to be relaxed and have a good time.

Don't: Cell phones: If at all possible, please do not use your cell phone. Sometimes it is necessary to "stay in touch" and we understand that. As a courtesy, it is good idea to inform the guide at the beginning that you may need to use your cell phone. However, know that when you are talking on the phone, as a courtesy to you, the guide will likely stay silent meaning you may miss important information along the tour.

Conversation: Our tours are pleasantly conversational versus the more rote, one-way narrative you would passively listen to on a public bus tour. This is a good thing. The one downside is that on occasion it is challenging for the guide to be a respectful listener while at the same time wanting to mention important attractions as he drives by them. It is rare, but a few clients along the way have tended to ramble, espresso-like almost, placing the guide and other guests as well, in an awkward position. Hence, the mention.
